Baby’s First Infant Massage by Rebecca Hallman

Baby’s First Infant Massage by Rebecca Hallman

As a local newborn and baby photographer in Orlando, I am able to meet with like-minded individuals that offer service to my expecting and new moms. One of them being a local Occupational Therapist.

Rebecca Hallman has over 14 years of experience in pediatrics and child development. She has a passion for being a part of the foundations of families.  She became a Certified Educator of Infant Massage (CEIM) a few years ago because She believes in the power and healing of human touch.  Human touch is like nothing else; its ability to soothe, connect, convey, and bond without saying a word are unmatched. And human touch in infants is even more powerful! (I know firsthand!)

Infant massage is one important way to positively impact your babies’ development.  This is why Rebecca strongly believe in the importance of bringing this practice to Orlando area families. You might ask “But why do I need to do a massage, can’t I just hold and cuddle my baby?”  Holding and cuddling are great for bonding as well but having a structured event such as massage leads to greater interaction, connection, love, and trust between you and baby.  This type of interaction can improve the health and development of your baby even more.  It is well researched that parents have a large influence on their infant’s development, cognition, future learning and success by their actions and involvement in the first years of life.  Performing daily infant massage gives parents another tool to positively influence their baby’s well-being.  For parents, having this specific time for massage can also increase their confidence in caring for their baby, their connection and love, and their ability to read baby’s cues.

Infant massage is based on 4 main principles: interaction, stimulation, relaxation, and relief.  Within these 4 areas are an expanse of other benefits.  It’s the promotion of these factors that improve the foundations in the first years of life.  She wants to help you make those moments of interaction a lifetime of memories and happiness for your family.  It would be an honor for me to be a part of your family’s health and well-being.  Babies are smart, open, loving little beings that long for touch, attention, and socialization from their parents right from the start.  Infant massage is a great tool that you can learn to fulfill these needs.

If you would like more information on Infant Massage, please visit Rebecca’s website at: babysfirst.godaddysites.com or email her at: [email protected].  You can also find out more information from Infant Massage USA. She is a wonderful resources and has taught me her “pro-tips” which have come in handy during my newborn sessions!

Baby E’s 1st Birthday – Heathrow Lake Mary Smash Cake Photographer

Little Edwin is up on the blog again!! I had to the pleasure of meeting his family a few months ago for their own family photos in addition to E’s 3 month photos. He has changed so much in just a few short months! When I first met him, he looked like a mini me of his daddy! Now I’m starting to see more and more of Nicholette in him. Our theme for this session was based around the mustache and “Little Man is Turning One”. I based the balloons, backdrops, banner, cake, and cake topper based on a party invitation and a picture of the smash cake outfit that E’s mom shared with me a few weeks ahead of time. When I saw the outfit, my first thought was, “Gosh, I hope he’s got the thighs for that diaper cover!” and boy did he! Although our original plans for an outdoor smash cake session got changed because of the unusually freezing cold weather, I think we did pretty good on our indoor backup plan! Little E killed his smash cake session. He’s one of the few babies that would have eaten the whole thing if we had let him. Something about baby boys, they love to dig right into a beautiful cake and make a mess. My experience with the girls are completely opposite! Enjoy some of my favorites from this session. Especially the last three, which were all taken within a few seconds of each other. I just love that little guy’s head tilt! He’s such a charmer. Watch out girls! 😉

If you are interested in a smash cake session, please e-mail me at [email protected] . See some behind the scenes on my Instagram and sneak peeks on my Facebook page.

K Family | New Smyrna Beach {Baby & Family Photographer}

Swoon! I’m head over heels for babies on the beach! It’s official, I’m going to start adding some weekend sunrise and sunset openings in New Smyrna Beach on a regular basis. So happy I was able to catch Carter for his 6 months photos! I haven’t seen him since his newborn session. (I kinda take that back, I see him all the time on Facebook/Instagram! 🙂 ). It’s so much fun to see these little ones grow and develop their own little personalities. He’s such a little wild man and mama’s boy all in one! Oh did I mention, I love the green/navy combo. Their coordinating color scheme is something I would pin off Pinterest for clients to use as inspiration! Here’s a little sneak peek from their gallery while it finishes uploading. Such a gorgeous family! Enjoy!

I’m switching it up! I decided to blog this session as I finish up their gallery. I am in editing and blogging overdrive before my little boy arrives (13 days left!). I promise to blog all the past sessions I missed!

I had a great time at this session with Nicholette, Edwin, and baby Edwin. Our session was early in the morning before the 90+ degree summer heat kicked in. Baby Edwin was such a good baby for our session! He was full of expression, smiles, and even put in a few minutes of tummy time. He only fussed for a few minutes towards the end. It took his mama barely 2 minutes to work her baby whisperer magic and have Edwin melt in her arms to dream land! Looking cute can tire a baby boy! While baby napped, I took advantage and captured a few shots of just mom and dad. I love including shots of mom and dad in a family session. After all, they are where it all started!

Special thanks to my sister, Perfect Patti, who helped to be my assistant. It’s not very often that I can boss my big sister around. 😉
